Enjoy your time off, you truly have deserved it! And please come back to tell us, where your path is taking you. I will forever be enormously grateful for my Shetland Wool Adventure in June last year. It was an incredible week!
There is something in the air, I find. The outer meaningless chaos of the world seems irrelevant to me right now as my hens are taken away by the fox, a fall makes me sit up and pay attention and my life takes a different path leading… I don’t know where either. May you travel well wherever you are going. As we say in French “on y va. On ne sait pas où on va mais on y va quand même.”
Ah, such a conscious choice to change, well done and I await what comes along for you. So many of us rush through our lives without stopping to assess where we are. I walked away from things (including a well-paying job) at 60 to travel and never regretted it. May you find happiness and adventures, Misa!
i am so grateful i was able to experience the amazing tour you and your collaborators created for our group last september. i continue to enjoy re-reading my shetland journals, your year in the garden book, and sharing the photos and knitting i brought back with me. i wish you all the best in the new adventure that lies ahead!
Wishing you well, wherever your path takes you. Still hoping to get to see Shetland in person through your eyes someday. Will be spending an afternoon in Lerwick on a Wild Fibers cruise tour in a couple of weeks. So looking forward to getting back there!
I totally understand the need to do less! I have been retired for 13 years and have really never done less. I have just begun, kind of!
My husband and I and two of our best friends are going to Scotland for 3 weeks in Sept/Oct. We are crossing to Shetland, and I am sad you may not be doing your tours. However, I am sure we will find people that have other things on offer. Can’t wait to find a Cake Fridge!
You are so right to take time out and do what you crave for a while. I have been doing that, it's a bit scary but my energy has improved and I am doing things that give me joy. 😊🤞
I have so enjoyed your writing for several years now, I hope at some future time you might send out some more. In the meantime, enjoy your slow down time and have a wonderful life! I will, as others, be re-reading your previous offerings.
It's strange that you say that, because I follow some USA homesteading sites. A lot of them are looking to simplify their lifestyle. A lot of them have family, and are looking for ways to spend more time with their children but still have a liveable income. I've always had to live frugally but our family never missed out on things. Hope it all goes well for you. Jackie.
